Anoka has a very organized and well thought out Public Works Department that makes sure the water you are drinking is safe. There are 26 full-time employees as well as several seasonal and part time employees that help maintain a safe atmosphere. Some of the different aspects of the Public Works Department include the Sewer and Water Division which maintain the wells, water towers and treatment plants. The Street Divisions which maintains the 66 miles of streets and sidewalks making sure they are swept and patched. The Storm Water Division, which maintains the storm water system, as well as the Building Maintenance Division and the Engineering Division.
